Summary

A house built in the late sixteenth or early seventeenth century, with a seventeenth- or eighteenth-century wing behind. The building has walls of rubble stone and a thatched roof with brick chimney stacks. The later wing has a tiled roof. Surviving original features of the interior are reported to include a plank and muntin partition and the remains of painted wall decoration.

‘The following monuments, unless otherwise described, are of the 17th century and of two storeys; the walls are of rubble and the roofs are thatched or covered with modern materials. Some of the buildings have exposed ceiling-beams and original fireplaces. … (11) Everett's Cottage, 35 yards S. of (10), retains two muntin and plank partitions. In the N. room are remains of painted wall-decoration of conventional character.’
