Summary

House with seventeenth century range to north with wing of about 1700 to rear and eighteenth century addition to the south. Built of ashlar and rubble with a tiled roof with stone slate verges, gabled to left and half-hipped to right. Stone stacks to ends of original range and rear of eighteenth century addition. Nineteenth century wooden lattice porch with round hood. Insurance plaque over. The Dorset poet, William Barnes, worked as a solicitor's clerk here for 3 years.
