Summary

Earthworks of a medieval field system with strip lynchets. Curvilinear banks within fields to the west of Godmanstone are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery and were digitall plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project. The features might form part of a wider area of a medieval field system recorded under MDO48747.

Full Description

(Centred at SY 65709717). Low Medieval type contour following lynchets, situated on a southern slope of a field under pasture. <1>

Curvilinear banks within fields to the west of Godmanstone are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project. The features might form part of a wider area of a medieval field system recorded under MDO48747. <3>
