Description

Poole Museum carried out a watching brief in June 1993 during the digging of footings for a new kitchen extension at the rear of The King's Head Hotel, High Street, Poole. The remains of a wall footing from an earlier building of probable late eighteenth century date were found. This wall appeared to cut through a relatively undisturbed layer of black earth, which produced a single sherd of Romano-British pottery. (1) (2)
