Evaluation carried out for Parsons and Joyce Ltd. and the construction of five houses and the associated infrastructure. Six trenches were dug with a mechanical excavator, taken over by hand excavation when natural or archaeological deposits were revealed. The trenches measured between 1.5m and 1.8m in width, and between 10.0m and 28.0m in length, totalling 88.0m in length. No archaeologically significant features were found, with only flint flakes and sherds of pottery from the Neolithic/Bronze Age recovered from a layer of hillwash. The conclusion was reached that although evidence suggests some prehistoric activity and agricultural land use until the post-Medieval period, no archaeologically significant features were observed so no further archaeological work is needed.
