OASIS: Terrain Archaeology carried out an archaeological evaluation of a site in Fordington Farmyard proposed for seven new dwellings in February 2025. Three trenches were excavated, of which one crossed the projected line of a ditched Roman trackway originally excavated at Alington Avenue.
A shallow ditch running east-west was found on the projected line of the north ditch of a ditched Roman trackway originally excavated at Alington Avenue. No other archaeological features other than modern services and surfaces associated with the use of the farm were found.
