Description

Twenty trenches were opened mechanically under archaeological supervision and potentially archaeological features investigated by hand. Six trenches excavated to the north-west of the site revealed only agricultural features of Post-Medieval or later date. Fourteen trenches excavated around a Scheduled barrow mound revealed some evidence for Post-Medieval ridge and furrow, an undated ditch and, also undated, but of likely relatively recent date, a charcoal rich feature.
