Description
Observations and recording during the digging of new footings for an unstable part of the boundary wall to Max Gate. No significant archaeology was revealed. The nineteenth century wall was built on shallow gravel footings dug into the top of a deep layer of subsoil. The twentieth century wall reused the earlier wall footings.
