Description
Shallow depth magnetometer survey of a site of approximately 4.7 hectares using a twin-sensor fluxgate gradiometer with 1m by 0.25m resolution. Five anomaly groups were identified in the resulting data. Two of these anomalies were interpreted as relatively modern in origin, probably land drains. Three were thought possibly to represent buried archaeology: a circular anomaly was interpreted as a possible prehistoric dwelling or funerary monument; a U-shaped anomaly a cut feature of uncertain function, and an amorphous anomaly was possibly archaeological industrial waste (compared with the results of earlier geophysical survey of an adjacent area to the east).
