Description
Observations and recording during the digging of 16 trial holes for traffic sign and solar bollard replacement and paving removal. These trial holes varied in size, shape and depth. Trial holes 1-8 were excavated with a vacuum excavator, 9 to 12 by a tracked excavator with a toothless bucket, and the rest were hand dug. Service trenches were also excavated, Trench 17 by machine and Trench 18 by both machine and hand. No artefacts were recovered and no deposits requiring environmental sampling were encountered.
