Description

A 1.5km in length pipework was laid to the south of Gillingham with four areas of strip map and recording undertaken. Pits and holes, had previously been identified in site two, dating to the bronze age, a possible prehistoric settlement close to SMR 1. Five test trenches were dug in SMR 1, at site 1, with ten artefacts recovered of limited archaeological value. Site 4 where SMR 4 was dug, where a suspected Romano-British settlement to be revealed nothing of archaeological significance.
