EDO7845 - Crock Lane, Bothenhampton; observations and recording 1985

A site on the eastern side of Crock Lane was developed for housing in the spring and summer of 1985. Archaeologists from the Dorset Institute of Higher Education visited the site in July 1985, after the first phase of development. Spoil heaps were examined for wasters or other evidence of pottery production in the vicinity; nothing was seen. It had been hoped to do magnetometry survey on the site, but the presence of fences, services and other sources of magnetic anomalies on and close to the site made this impossible. No further work was done.
