Description

The survey was carried out as part of a postgraduate research project looking at the social use of space by the Iron Age population in and around the hillforts of Dorset. Licensed by English Heritage under Section 42 of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979. The magnetometry equipment used was a Bartington 601 gradiometer set for traverses 1m apart. Ploughing has removed all surface features and reduced the ramparts to a slight ridge. The survey data exhibited some anomalies which could represent pits but the survey did not detect any possible structures associated with them.
