Description

Evaluation of an area proposed for mineral extraction. Forty trenches ranging in length from 24.2m to 26.4m in length were dug to depths between 0.24 and 0.6m. Some of the trenches were positioned to investigate anomalies seen in geophysical survey data, and most turned out to be geological in origin. Features of possible archaeological origin were identified in trenches in the northern part of the area evaluated. Two ditches were recorded, one with a prehistoric struck flint in the filling.
