Description

Charred plant remains and charcoal recovered during excavations in 1998-99 were analysed. The charred plant remains came from 12 to 13th-century contexts suggesting that they were kitchen waste, and were dominated by cereal grains, particularly free-threshing type wheat, and weed seeds.
