Description
Survey of c. 2.5 ha using fluxgate gradiometer, and earth resistance survey in a smaller area. Conditions for survey were poor, as the fields were under maize. Nevertheless, one anomaly was interpreted as part of an oval enclosure, and subsequently identified as a barrow by excavation. Features nearby were quarry pits from which the mound of the barrow was formed. A second circular feature with a square enclosure inside it was tentatively identified; responses were weak and this may be geological or agricultural in origin. Parallel linear anomalies were confirmed as being of natural origin by excavation.
