Description
An archaeological evaluation comprising the excavation by machine of two trial trenches each measuring 2m by 2m in the forecourt of the garage. Trench 1 contained a post-medieval pit and a surface of medieval date. Trial Trench 2 contained structural remains of post-medieval and modern date, as well as an isolated medieval post hole. Although some medieval features were identified, it is likely that the construction of the post medieval structures has largely removed or damaged any earlier archaeological remains that may have existed on the site. Natural, undisturbed subsoil was reached within both trial trenches.
