Description
The geophysical survey was carried out in connection with a proposal by Lightsource Energy Ltd for a solar farm. Geomagnetic surveys covering c.13.3ha of land were conducted within three pastoral fields to the south of Henbury Pit, the proposed location for the development. A number of modern features were found including brick and metal structures and modern made ground. A series of probable soil-filled features were detected and were possibly former stream channels and/or tree boles. Sand and gravel extraction may have taken place on a small scale at the site and the features may therefore relate to former sand/gravel pits. These may have been of early origin.
