Description

AC archaeology monitored the excavation of nine geotechnical trial trenches or testpits in the southwest part of Bridport in June 1997. The test pits were excavated by machine fitted with a toothed bucket, with the exception of TP3 and TP5, which were dug by hand. Test Pit TP6 was dug to a depth of 1.8m and revealed modern infill down to about 1.8m. No artefacts were recovered. (1)
