Description

Steve Wallis of Dorset County Council Archaeology Service conducted a watching brief at The Swan, Cheap Street during ground works on June 4th 1997. planning ref. 1/N/97/0052. The topsoil, containing 19th and 20th century material, was observed to directly overly bedrock. No archaeological features were recorded.
