Description

A photgraph taken from the tower of the Priory Church, Christchurch during 1992, revealed a parch mark within the churchyard, close to and east of the path from the churchyard gate. This has been interpreted as representing the possible remains of a Saxon royal residence mentioned in the Anglo-Saxon chronicle for 900 AD.
