Description

"Observations by June Johnstone of housing development on the line of the south defences in Acland Road showed that the site had been extensively disturbed and no trace of the rampart survived. Traces of metalling and Roman occupation debris survived north of the presumed rampart line." (1) The housing development is presumed to be that of Acland Court, on the east side of the junction between Acland Road and South Walks.
