Description

Observations were made during road widening works at the junction of Church Street and High East Street, Dorchester, during 1983. A well was discovered approximately 2.2m NE of the NE buttress of All Saints Church. Six courses of chalk block steyning rested upon natural chalk. The topmost chalk blocks supported a dome of Broadmayne bricks with no opening. The well was filled with concrete after recording. (1)
