Description
Two probable cremations were found in 1856 at a depth of 2 ft. in laying sewers in Colliton Street near the Unitarian Chapel, later Holles Hall [1].
The County Chronicle records two oval urns of Black Ware in the possession of Mr. Gould, 'one large and one small, the larger containing the remains of bones. The contents of the smaller are supposed to be the ashes of a heart' [1][2].
