Anglican Parish Church. C15 origin. Restored, and chancel rebuilt, c1882. Architect G. Crickmay. Tower part rebuilt 1897, Architect C Ponting. Some re-use of old materials in restoration. Coursed rubble stone walls with ashlar dressings; tiled roofs with coped gables. Nave, chancel with vestry on north, north porch, west tower. Tower, of 2 stages, has solid parapet with moulded coping. String course with carved gargoyles at base of parapet. Diagonal buttresses to tower. Rectangular stair turret on north side. Belfry has, in north and south walls, a single-light louvred window. In west wall, a 2-light window with geometrical tracery. In lower stage, north and south walls each have a single-light window with trefoiled head. Main west window of 3 lights with Perpendicular tracery. Moulded plinth. North porch has a C16 4-centred arched doorway in square frame with foliage carving in spandrels. North wall of nave has two 2-light windows with Perpendicular tracery, - the western one a C19 copy. Similar window in vestry. North wall of chancel has a single-light window with cinquefoil head in rectangular surround. East window of 3 lights, with Perpendicular tracery. South wall of chancel has 2 windows as on north. South wall of nave has three- 2-light windows with Perpendicular tracery, the centre one a C19 copy. Internally, walls plastered. Tower arch with panelled soffite. Chancel has a C19 pointed barrel roof, hoarded internally. Chancel arch, C19, has attached shafts with octagonal caps. Waggon roof to nave, boarded internally, with arch-braced trusses. C15 octagonal font, with tapered bowl - traceried panels on underside. Pews and pulpit C19. Trussed rafter roof to porch. A series of 13 C15 consecration crosses, re-set in various places on external and internal walls. RCHM Monument 1. (Dorset. Vol. I)
