Description

SY 9179 15/168 KIMMERIDGE KIMMERIDGE VILLAGE 20.11.59 The Old Parsonage. (Formerly listed as "Parsonage",) including outbuilding at rear II Dated 1837. Stone walls, stone slate roofs with parapets to gables. Stone stacks with diagonally set shafts. In traditional style. One storey and attics. T-shaped plan. Main south-west elevation has projecting gabled wing at west end. Porch, in angle, has gabled roof. Ledged door in four-centred arch, with carved date-stone over, inscribed "Lady Emily Septima Bingham, 1837". Ground floor has two three-light stone mullioned windows with hoodmoulds and double-hung sashes. Attic has two gabled dormers with mullioned windows and casements. In the wing, ground floor and attic each have one three-light stone mullioned window with hoodmoulds - double-hung sashes on ground floor - casements in attic. Internally, main staircase has plain square balusters and shaped spandril brackets. Contemporary outbuilding at rear - said to be former butler's cottage, has stone walls, stone slate roof and brick stack. Single storey. RCHM Monument 5. Listing NGR: SY9172879931
