Description

SY 8192, SY 8193, SY 8293, SY 8292 12/58 AFFPUDDLE THE HOLLOW, BRIANTSPUDDLE (West Side) Chapel Cottage II Cottage. Appears of three builds, probably C17 origin. Brick and cob walls, colourwashed. Thatched roof. Brick stacks. Part two-storeyed, part one storey and attics. Southern section was used as a Wesleyan Chapel from the late C18 to c1927. First floor here removed. This section has ledged door in thatched porch. Ground floor has casement windows with glazing bars. Attic has half-dormers with casements with glazing bars. One earlier window with lead lights at high level in rear wall. Pointed arch formed in one internal cross wall. Centre section has one room on each floor. Large open fireplace with timber lintel and bread oven. Northern section, C19, of two storeys, has brick walls and modern tiled roof. Door in timber porch.
