Detached house. Original use uncertain, but reputedly a workshop for Huguenot silk weavers. C18, with early C19 additions. Brick walls, tiled roofs, 2 brick stacks near centre. Dentil cornice at eaves of main range, and plat band at first floor level at ends. Cruciform plan - the main range with apsidal ends, the 2 central "wings" added as cottages. 2 storeys. In the southern apse, ground floor has 3 casements with lead lights under segmental arches. First floor has 2 similar, smaller windows, and a central blind window. In the northern apse, ground floor has 2 casements with horizontal glazing bars under segmental arches, - the centre window blocked. First floor has 2 casements with glazing bars and a central blind window. Casements with glazing bars in the wings. Added semi-circular porch on east wall. Internally, ground floor rooms have exposed ceiling beams. (R.C.H.M. Monument 5. Dorset Vol V).
