MELBURY OSMOND ST 50 NE HOLT LANE 2/88 Lower Holt Farmhouse 11.11.66 II Detached Farmhouse. C18, extended at right angles in C19, to join earlier structure at east end. Rubble-stone walls. Thatch roof to original farmhouse, slate roof to C19 range, and corrugated asbestos further east. C20 brick stack on south gable, and on east gable. Two storeys. Gable- end and 3 windows to south elevation, with the C18 return having a sash window and a 2-light casement over. C19 range has cast-iron casements with glazing-bars, wood cills, and dressed stone voussoirs, these are 3-light to ground floor and 2-light over. Doorway is left of centre, flush-panelled and with wood frame, C19. The north elevation has similar cast-iron casements with glazing-bars canted bay window on the gable-end at right hand, late C19.
