Abstract/Summary

'HAMPSHIRE: CHRISTCHURCH, THE PRIORY (SZ 161924). M. Ridley excavating for the Bournemouth Archaeological Society (cf. Med. Archaeol., XIII (1969), 244-5) completed examination of one garderobe, and another probable one, later reused as a fish hatchery, was found beside the N. end of the precinct wall nearest the Augustinian priory. Much pottery includes Saintonge, Rouen, polychrome and other imported wares; and among the numerous other finds are tokens, metalwork, and a soapstone mould for bronze-casting engraved with a view of the priory before the central tower was destroyed.'
