Abstract/Summary
'An archaeological evaluation was undertaken in support of planning consent for the restoration of Swanworth Quarry, Worth Matravers, Dorset. Thirty-two trial trenches were excavated by machine providing a 1.5% sample of the site. Three of the trenches, all in the southern part of the evaluation area, revealed shallow subsoil ditches. The other trenches were devoid of archaeological features. One of the ditches produced two pieces of worked flint. The ditches are considered most probably to represent part of a field system of later prehistoric or Romano-British date.'
