Abstract/Summary

This brief report contains the results of an archaeological assessment survey carried out during August 1987 by the Trust for Wessex Archaeology. The survey incorporates the area of the directional drill target area adjacent to Wellsite F, within the Wytch Farm Oilfield Development. The area, of c 3000 sq m lies on the Goathorn peninsular on the southern shore of Poole Harbour and is centred on. The target area lies at c 8 m OD on a south-facing wooded (coniferous) slope. Wellsite F is to the south east of the survey area. No surface features were noted in the survey area and no archaeological sites were previously recorded in the immediate vicinity.
