Author/Originator | Farrar, R A H (ed) |
Date/Year | 1975 |
Abstract/Summary
Mr. Brendan O'Connor has kindly reported as follows: 'Excavations on behalf of the Dorchester Excavation Committee were carried out in September on ground behind Messrs Boots premises on South Street. Except for foundations of recent buildings, there was no disturbance of the original turf line, on which lay a thin spread of chalk rubble. It is possible that the area is within the Roman forum or a similar open space.
