Abstract/Summary
Jo Draper observed the excavation of footings for a replacement retaining wall around Dorchester Prison's car park on North Square, Dorchester during the late summer and early autumn of 1985.
The castle ditch was observed and the remnants of a stone wall that was probably the remnants of houses shown on Hutchins' map of 1772. further south the trench cut through the brick barrel vault of a cellar.
