Abstract/Summary
While the Corporation work-men were engaged in excavations in the roadway on the northern side of the Borough Gardens on Tuesday they came across a cinerary urn of large proportions. Unfor-tunately the pick of the workman was driven through the urn before its character had been discovered, but
directly Foreman Bull ascertained the nature of the object he at once took steps to prevent further damage.
The utmost care unearthed the urn, which, singular to state, was resting directly on a human skull, several of which, it may be added, have been found
during the operations. The fragments of the urn were conveyed to the County Museum, and have been deposited in the care of Mr. Moule.
