Abstract/Summary
Report on the last outdoor meeting of the Dorset Natural History and Antiquarian Field Club. The first site visited was a spot between Bradford Peverell and Muckleford, the site of excavation of a cutting through the Dorchester Aqueduct, Directed by Mr. H. B. Middleton, a member of the Club.
The report includes a transcript of an address given by Dr. Colley March in praise of Major J. N. Coates and in support of his theory that the earthwork represents a Roman Aqueduct.
There is also a suggestion that clay recovered from the base of the aqueduct contained 'Confervae' indicating the presence of water in the channel at one time.
