Abstract/Summary
AC Archaeology carried out an archaeological evaluation on two proposed sites for the new Damers First School in August 2005. This followed an earlier geophysical survey. Five trenches were excavated on the existing school site and no archaeological features were discovered. Eight trenches were also excavated on a site immediately west of Poundbury Cemetery. These revealed part of the prehistoric field ditch system and two possible prehistoric chalk quarries.
