Abstract/Summary

The 9th season of Excavations at Poundbury lasted for 5 weeks during October and early November, and was confined to a series of burials that had been planned in 1973 but not excavated. A further 68 burials were recorded. One burial was of a woman with plaited brown hair, which survived. A pre-existing ditch, perhaps the west boundary of the original cemetery, contained 4th century pottery.
