Abstract/Summary
The report describes the results of archaeological recording undertaken in January and February 2002 at Channon’s Garage. The development works had only minor impact on the archaeological stratigraphy. The only disturbance of Roman levels was to demolition deposits. Deposits of clay were observed along the eastern edge of the site adjacent to Salisbury Street. These may represent flood deposits or perhaps part of the Roman rampart. A post-medieval stone wall was found on the Salisbury Street frontage.
