Abstract/Summary

A short interim note on the excavations following the demolition of the South Street Methodist Chapel, summarising the main Roman, medieval and post-medieval discoveries. These include part of a Roman street, a number of early Roman timber buildings, a Roman water pipe, later Roman stone buildings, and parts of late 15th and 17th century buildings.
