SDO9393 - Some new information on the henge monument at Maumbury Rings, Dorchester

Report on some additional finds from Maumbury in Taunton Castle Museum and some radiocarbon determinations. The new finds include some grooved ware pottery, some worked flint, six carved chalk balls and some human and animal bone. Two radiocarbon dates were obtained from antler. It also includes a discussion on the dating of Maumbury, its relationship to other sites in Wessex and the evidence for formal deposition of bones and artefacts within the site.
