SDO21716 - Geophysical Survey Report. Charminster, Dorset Phase 5

‘SUMO GeoSurveys was commissioned to undertake a geophysical survey of an area outlined for residential development. This survey forms part of an archaeological investigation being undertaken by Lewis Wyatt Construction Ltd on behalf of Wyatt Homes. The survey conducted over 3.8 hectares of land at Charminster has recorded a few magnetic responses that could be interpreted as being of possible archaeological interest. Trends in the north-west of Area 1 could possibly mark the courses of ditches. Numerous uncertain responses have also been identified and are likely to be due to a combination of underlying geological and agricultural processes or buried ferrous debris. Sinuous natural anomalies have also been detected.’
