SDO21380 - A preliminary archaeological appraisal of Dorset Wildlife Trust Landholdings. Interim report

‘This report presents the results of a preliminary appraisal of the archaeological and historical interests of 37 reserves owned or leased by the Dorset Wildlife Trust. The available resource of information held by archaeological, aerial photographic and historic databases has been identified and, in the case of six reserved, complemented by field visits. These sample sites have been selected to provide a range of geological, topographical and land-use situations, the assessment of which may provide more general indicators for further research into the landholdings as a whole. The results from this survey have been used to form the basis of a Project Design for a more detailed future survey of all landholdings.’
