Abstract/Summary
‘Pre-Construct Archaeology Ltd was appointed by Craig Castle Construction (agent), on behalf of Davina Samann (the Client), to carry out an archaeological watching brief at 18 Wick Lane, Christchurch, Dorset during excavations regarding a development comprising a rear ground floor extension. This included an initial foundation strip and a deeper footing strip.
In accordance with the approved Written Scheme of Investigation, prepared in respect of Condition 4 of planning consent, watching brief monitoring visits were made on the 4th to the 8th March 2024, coinciding with the excavation of the foundation and footings of the respective extension.
No significant archaeological features or artefacts were uncovered during the excavations carried out at 18 Wick Lane, Christchurch, Dorset. It is concluded that these works were achieved without impact on significant archaeological remains.’
