SDO21166 - Repair Works, The Ashley Wood Golf Club, Blandford, Dorset: Results of Archaeological Monitoring and Recording

‘Archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken by AC archaeology during October 2024 at The Ashley Wood Golf Club, Blandford, Dorset (centred on NGR ST 91966 05974) during repair works associated with three mat teeing areas and a set of steps. The works were located within the Causewayed Enclosure and Iron Age Defended settlement with outworks called Buzbury Rings Scheduled Monument (National Heritage List for England ref. 1002718), and the works were carried out under the grant of Scheduled Monument Consent (reference S00244367). The excavated areas were contained within topsoil or modern deposits associated with the existing mat teeing areas. No archaeological features or deposits were exposed and no finds were recovered.’
