Abstract/Summary
OASIS sumogeop1-321953: A detailed gradiometry survey was carried out over approximately 2.2 hectares of grassland, currently used as horse paddocks. No features of archaeological origin have been identified, despite the high level of prehistoric and Roman activity within close proximity of the site. A small number of linear anomalies are of uncertain origin, while scattered magnetic debris and disturbance are likely related to the construction of the Dorchester by-pass. Magnetic disturbance is related to nearby ferrous metal objects, such as fencing, and magnetic spikes are likely to be modern rubbish.
