Abstract/Summary

‘Terrain Archaeology carried out archaeological observations and recording during the clearance of modern silting and vegetation from a former channel of the River Stour at Eyemead, south west of Wimborne Minster. The channel had previously been used as the mill stream for Lake Mill but was cut off from the main river channel at the end of the nineteenth century. The remains of a Roman road crossed the channel in the area of clearance and the site lay just west of the Lake Farm Roman legionary fortress. No archaeological features or deposits were revealed.’
