SDO19752 - Corfe Castle Water Main Replacement, Dorset: Results of an archaeological watching brief Wessex Water project number: BP0003

'Between July and September 2022, an archaeological watching brief was undertaken during groundworks associated with the construction of a replacement water main on land to the northeast of Corfe Castle in Dorset. The progamme of work included the construction of c.1.5km length of new pipeline, together with a site compound. A number of archaeological features were recorded during the excavation of the pipe trench and consisted of ditch-like features of uncertain date as well as a former trackway. No artefacts of any significance were recovered during the archaeological monitoring.
