SDO177 - Survey Work at Bindon Abbey, Wool, Dorset. 2. The Abbey Ruins

The report contains an overview of the known history of the Abbey and early surveys of the post-medieval alterations. Comparisons with the survey work by the Trust for Wessex Archaeology are made. The surveys were essentially the same however differences arose where previously recorded walling had been obscured or where interpretations of walling differed. With the exception of removals and reinsertions of tombs and the unquantified effects of excavation in the south range, the fabric had undergone little alteration since the 19th century.
