Abstract/Summary
OASIS: Terrain Archaeology carried out an archaeological evaluation of the proposed site for new supported living accommodation at 4 Prince of Wales Road, Dorchester, in July 2021. Three trenches were excavated across the site. All three trenches revealed the same stratigraphic sequence comprising a medieval/post-medieval agricultural soil over the natural chalk, sealed beneath a late nineteenth century garden soil. The upper part of the sequence relates to landscaping activity and the formation of a car park in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. No archaeological features were discovered.
